Ramirez is schedule to be executed by the state of Texas on September 8, 2021. He is suing the state, however, for the right to have his pastor, Pastor Dana Moore of Second Baptist Church in Corpus Christi, lay his hands on Ramirez during the execution. Touching by a spiritual advisor is currently not allowed by the state during executions.
